Dear Parents/Guardians,
The school year is coming to a close. It's hard to believe it's almost time for summer vacation. I'm very excited to have the opportunity to loop with your child to the 5th grade. We have a new math program that looks very exciting and challenging for our soon to be 5th graders. I'm sure you have a lot of fun activities planned for the summer months. Please consider having your child complete our summer packets for reading, writing and math. A little practice each day will go a long way when they return to school in August! I have the Summer Math Packet on my website and I will also be sending home copies before the end of the school year. I look forward to seeing you at our award ceremony on Tuesday, May 29th!
In math, we are reviewing area, perimeter, rounding, multiplying multi-digit numbers, symmetry, types of triangles and solving multi-step word problems. The week of May 21st we will be taking our 4th quarter Common Formative Assessment post test.
In Rocket Math, students are working on division. Their goal is to pass Level M by the time they complete 4th grade. They are well on their way! I will have the official results in the next few weeks on how well they did toward meeting their goal.
In writing, students will be writing a response to literature.
Our Authors' Tea was so much fun. Thanks to all who joined us!
Please check out the "Star Student of the Week" tab for our Happy Gram Winners.
Thank you for making sure your child is at school on time each day!! We track how well we do on a daily basis and we post our progress each week toward our goal of 94% or better.
Please check out the Homework tab for math homework which will include all 3 math groups. I have also included spelling and writing assignments under this tab. There is also a Homework Help tab available when/if needed.
If you have any questions or suggestions about what I can add to my website, please let me know. Communication is key to the success of our fourth grade students. Our partnership truly makes a difference in your child's learning experience.
