Superintendent's Message

Dr. Ronald IarussiWelcome back, Prexies!

We are looking forward to another successful school year here in Marion. We have not been together in our school buildings since March, and throughout the summer our staff was busy preparing to offer the best possible experience for our students for the 2020-21 school year. It’s going to be a great year.

This school year, we will adapt to make sure we continue to strive for progress and remain committed to our goals within the four pillars of leadership, learning, literacy and legacy. This is important work that is aimed at supporting our vision, namely how to provide a rigorous and innovative instructional model.

Also, our commitment to health and safety remains, and we must all continue to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing masks, washing our hands frequently, practicing social distancing, and staying home when we are sick. Flexibility will be key to the success of our school year; we are as ready as we can be for a multitude of scenarios and we are prepared to adapt when necessary.

I know we’re all ready to get back to normal, but this school year is going to look and feel a bit different and we must work together so we can remain in school together.

Lastly, I must express my gratitude for our neighbors, businesses, residents and families. The support of the Marion community has been overwhelming. We thank you for your patience and continued understanding and commitment to one another throughout the past few months.

I look forward to the celebrations, milestones and achievements we will experience together. We can do this together, Prexies!
