Welcome to Rutherford B. Hayes Elementary School where we put students first. Our school mission is to partnership with students, families, and community, challenging each student to reach his/her highest potential by providing innovative, quality education that meets the unique needs of each student. Our vision is to create a positive safe educational environment conducive to individualized learning which emphasizes the arts, sciences, basic life skills, business, and community involvement.

Marion City Schools has in place a new system this year to notify parents of important information. It is vital that we have a current phone number. This system notifies by telephone if there is a delay, cancellation, early release, etc… If we don’t have updated information, you won’t be contacted through the system. Please contact the school office at 223.4950 if you need to update information.
After School Success Club:
begins September and lasts through April. Teachers will send notice home in newsletters for each grade level.
Our school day begins at 8:45am, allowing students who arrive between 8:30am and 8:45am sufficient time to eat breakfast and prepare to begin the school day. At 8:45am the academic part of the school day begins. Your child is missing instructional time if he/she is late. It is important they arrive on time.
