Steve Vanderhoff - Director

Steve Vanderhoff is a lifelong resident of Marion, Ohio and helped launch Rushmore Academy in 2009. Mr. Vanderhoff has been the Director of Rushmore Academy since 2012. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in business and masters of arts in Education from the University of Findlay.

Mr. Vanderhoff’s innovative leadership has positioned Rushmore Academy as one of the leading dropout recovery community schools in the state of Ohio. Mr. Vanderhoff takes great pride in developing vital community partnerships that enable Rushmore Academy students to do much more than just earn their high school diploma. Community partners provide critical support in developing additional skills Rushmore students require to be successful in today’s workforce. Mr. Vanderhoff’s passion is creating a climate that focuses on the individual needs of all Rushmore students.

Lori Vandeborne - Continuous Improvement Officer

Mrs. Vandeborne will be entering her second year with Rushmore Academy. She is a passionate educational leader who enjoys innovation and thrives on inspiring a relevant and engaging approach to learning. She has a wide range of curriculum and instruction experience from her time as an elementary principal, a personalized instructional and leadership coach, an intervention specialist, and most recently with career technology eduction. As Continuous Improvement Officer she works diligently to identify needs, adjust practices, and provide individualized and relevant personalized learning experiences for each and every student.

Angie Lowe - Supervisor of Curriculum

Mrs. Lowe has been at Rushmore Academy since the school opened in 2009. She was the English Teacher at Rushmore Academy for 6 years, the senior advisor for one year, and currently she is the Curriculum and Blended Learning Supervisor. Mrs. Lowe’s primary focus is on the oversight of all curriculum at Rushmore Academy ensuring all students are provided the appropriate curriculum for core courses, electives, and career technical education courses. She loves the personalization of education the school can offer to each student and the relationships that are built along the way.

Jessica Jerew - School Counselor

Ms. Jerew is starting her third year as a school counselor at Rushmore Academy. Ms. Jerew’s main focus is the academic, social/emotional, and career development of each of the Rushmore students. She works closely with several of the career programs to help ensure each student is on a successful path for graduation.

Linda Lindsey - Office Manager

Currently serving as Executive Office Manager, Mrs. Lindsey has also been with Rushmore Academy since the school opened. Mrs. Lindsey is the first person most parents and students speak with when they call or stop in about the enrollment process. Always greeting students with a smile, Mrs. Lindsey’s focus is keeping the office running smoothly and answering any questions or concerns students might have.
