Dr. Ron Iarussi began serving the Marion community as district superintendent in 2018, with over 16 years of experience as a superintendent at that time.
He served as superintendent of the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center as superintendent and prior to that Dr. Iarussi served as the superintendent of the Mahoning County Educational Service Center. His first tenure as superintendent was with the Columbiana Exempted Village School District for six years.
Under his leadership, schools in the Columbiana Exempted Village School District earned recognitions including inclusion in the U.S. News and World Report Top 2000 High Schools and the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools Program. As superintendent of an educational service center he worked with a number of local school districts and gained experience in working with communities to determine what tools and skills students need to prepare them for their future.
He earned a doctorate of education degree in educational leadership and administration from Youngstown State University and a master of education and superintendent certification from Ashland University. He majored in education at Youngstown State University.
He currently serves on the board of directors of Marion Cando, United Way of North Central Ohio, Marion Area Workforce Acceleration Collaborative and the Marion Family and Children’s First Council.
He is a member of BASA’s Report Card Committee, State Department Committee and Equity and Diversity Committee. He also is an Ohio representative to AASA’s Diversity and Equity Committee.
He resides in Marion. He is married to Pam and has two children, Keary and AJ.
