Mrs. Della Flora started with Marion City Schools as the Assistant Superintendent in August of 2022.  Prior to coming to the district, she spent four years in Connecticut as the Stamford Public Schools Associate Superintendent for School Development. Before that, she spent 17 years with Columbus City Schools as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. During her time in Columbus, she earned the highest teaching degree and became National Board Certification which she still holds. Ms. Della Flora is a two-time alumnus of The Ohio State University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology (1999) and a 2001 master's degree in Elementary Education K-8 program. Mrs. Della Flora has received numerous local, state, and national awards and recognition for her dedication to and work in public education.

I am honored to serve as the superintendent of Marion City Schools. I understand the important role that education plays in our society and in our community. I am committed to ensuring that every student in our district receives the best possible education. I am impressed by the dedication and hard work that I have seen from the staff, students and community in this city. I am eager to continue to work alongside all of our families to improve our schools and to provide a quality education for every student in Marion City Schools.

I want to assure you that I am here to support your child/children, and you, any way that I can. I want to say thank you for sending your student to Marion City Schools. I also want to share that it is very important that we keep the lines of two-way communication open between home and school.
