Embedded Image for: (2020622151612885_image.jpg) Grant Middle School encourages students to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) interests through opportunities including its VEX Robotics program.

Students in robotics program, build and operate their own VEX robots. They compete against teams from other schools for the opportunity to attend the VEX World Competition held annually in April.

Robotics serves as a framework for learning concepts like engineering and computer science. It also teaches life skills including teamwork, critical thinking, and project management.

VEX Robotics Competition

The VEX World Competition is the world's largest and fastest growing educational robotics competition. Teams design, build, and code robots each year as a new robotics game is announced. Thousands of competition are held annually around the United states and in 40 countries.

Students in Ohio compete at area competitions for the chance to compete at the state qualifier held annually at Marion Harding High School. They may be selected at the state qualifier to proceed to the VEX World Competition.

Grant's ATOM team reached a milestone in 2017 as the team won a victory in the semi-final round of VEX Worlds.
